Last week I showed pictures of my beginning hyperquilting on the SewCal Gal Dec. Challenge. Here is a collage of where I am today.
I hope you can see the gold thread shining in the feathers and elsewhere.
This is taking me much longer to complete then it should as I am having some problems with my eyes and can't work on it for very long at a time. I am using eyedrops and, although they help, the weeping continues. I have an appointment with the eye doctor next week.

Pretty quilting!
Thank you Pat.
that look great. i want to try that this year
Give it a try. Lowering your upper tension helps a lot
Gorgeous! I love the sparkle of the metallic thread to ๐ I hope your eyes are better soon ๐ Avis x
Thanks. Hopefully different eye drops will do the job.
Lovely. You did a great job. Glad to hear you are going to the eye doctor. Eye sight is very important, especially to us quilters. I hope it is something simple and you’ll be back feeling 100% very soon.

Thank you. I learned so much during this Challenge 8 months. All the instructors were great. Thanks for putting it together for us.
Gorgeous quilting! Hope yours eyes get better soon.
love that bit of twinkle from the gold thread – just adds to the lovely quilting
I love the sparkle. Thank you for sharing
Lovely free-motion work. Did you do any trapunto within the center or does it just appear like that because of the surrounding quilting being so much more dense?
The surrounding background pebbles pops it up plus I used a wool batting and it seems to be poofier
This is lovely. I do love the sparkle and the colors. I have no idea what “hyperquilting” is. Also, I hope your eyes are better soon.
Thank you. Hyperquilting is going back and stitching your designs with additional thread using different colors. Patsy Thompson does a lot of it and I think she coined the word.
It looks fantastic! I love the gold on that blue. It really shows off the beautiful quilting. Hope you are feeling better quick!
Thanks for the definition and reference, Quilting Grandma. I looked up Patsy’s blog and found a lovely demonstration of double-quilting. Very nice!
