The last I have been busy trying to finish my Hugs & Kisses quilt top for Christa Quilts QAL. This quilt top has given me lots of problems, not because of Christa's instructions, because I chose a different layout. My dyslexia kick into high gear and I kept placing bow ties in the wrong direction, but I persisted.
Here you can see some of the progress including the cute Bee Bow Tie. And then here is what I thought was the completed top!, until it has been pointed out to me there are 2 mistakes in the layout. Can You spot them? If you see more then 2 please let me know. In the mean time, I am setting this aside for a bit before I try to fix it.
In the mean time I will continue to work on my Diamond Rail Fence found at Missouri Star Quilt Company
All my blocks are made so it is time to assemble them into a queen size top.
I am linking to Leah Day's FMQ Firday
Have a fun week of quilting.
They are both gorgeous! I love the colours and the designs and I particularly like the way you’ve changed the QAL pattern to make squiggles š I can only see two blocks to be turned and as they are so close to the border it shouldn’t take too long to correct.
Thank you. Both quilts are made from stashes. The bow tie is from my stash the Diamond Rail Fence from my Cousin’s stash.
Agreeing with Avis, I only see 2 blocks, too. I really love the colors! So much to do; so little time! Hugs, Doreen
Thanks. It was nice to cut into my stash for the Bow Ties. My Cousin’s stash is a lot bigger then mine and we barely made a dent in it. Our strip exchange was fun.
I really like the colors you choose. Great quilt
Thanks.
Both of your quilts really look great so far. When you unpick the Hug’s n Kisses blocks, don’t take off the entire border to get to it. Only un-stitch as much as you need to to reach the blocks. It won’t be as bad as you think. Thank goodness you caught it before you quilted it. š
Thanks. I have done sew much unsewing on this quilt I just have to set it aside for a few days. I love your pink Hugs and Kisses.
